In this chilling adventure, venture into the remote Yeti Lodge Resort to uncover the truth behind your friend's mysterious disappearance. Join ski events and search the resort for clues, then brave platforming traps in the Yeti’s lair.
Press the fire button on the joystick to skip the introductory sequence until the prompt “Press Fire to Start” is shown. Press the fire button on the joystick again, and select the “New game” option to begin.
There are three options on the menu screen - one to start a new game, and two for loading a game from disk or cart. The loading options do not perform an action on THEC64 Mini Black Edition, and saving should be done using the Save/load state option in the menu interface.
Yeti mountain takes place over three separate gameplay episodes, each changing the mechanics of the game.
You’ll reach the end of the game after progressing through all three acts. The choices you make along the way will affect which one of the multiple game endings you get, so choose your actions wisely!
The first episode is a quest-based exploration game, tasking you with interacting with various characters in a ski resort, participating in ski events and exploring the resort to uncover clues on the recent disappearances.
To make progress with your investigation, you’ll need to successfully complete 3 different ski events. With ski equipment on hand, head over to the ski lifts to select one of the three courses:
Ski down the slope as fast as you can, and get to the finish line before the target time.
Ski down the slope while going through gates scattered across the course. Reach the finish line before the allotted time and do it without missing more than 25 gates.
Ski down the slope while performing a variety of jumps, tricks and rail slides to score points. Your objective is to score the target points and get to the finish line before the allotted time.
To perform tricks, jump off a ramp, and push the joystick in any of the following combination of directions to pull off freestyle tricks and jumps:
| Combo sequence | Trick name | Points |
|---|---|---|
| ⬇⬇ | Star jump | 100 Points |
| ⬅⬅⬅⬅ | Spin left | 250 points |
| ➡➡➡➡ | Spin right | 250 points |
| ⬆⬆⬆⬆ | Back flip | 250 points |
| ⬅⬅⬇⬇⬅⬅ | Left spin backward star jump | 500 points |
| ➡➡⬇⬇➡➡ | Right spin backward star jump | 500 points |
Make sure to vary the tricks you’re performing - doing the same trick multiple times will limit the points awarded to 5 per trick!
To perform a rail slide, ski onto a rail from the top, or jump onto it from the side. Once on the rail, move the joystick left and right to keep the rail centered under you.
Each time a ski event is failed, the time given in subsequent tries will increase by 30 seconds, up to a maximum of 90 seconds.
Episode two provides multi-scrolling platform action, as you uncover the Yeti’s lair and explore its diverse environments, filled with traps and subterranean fauna.
Move the joystick left and right to move the player, and move the joystick up to jump. Holding the joystick down will move the camera downwards slightly, allowing you to peek at what lies below.
Ladders can be used to climb through the cave - move the joystick up or down when next to a ladder to climb it, then move the joystick left or right when next to a surface to dismount the ladder.
Interact with objects in the cave by jumping on them, or by pressing the Fire button on the joystick when standing next to them.
The cave contains a series of mysterious glowing symbols which can be interacted with. Each symbol grants the player unique supernatural abilities:
If you encounter the Yeti while in the cave, he may grab you! wiggle the joystick left and right rapidly to escape.
Episode three returns you to the slopes, with 15 minutes to ski to the bottom of the mountain, outrunning a devastating avalanche! Reach the vilage at the bottom of the mountain warning the villages before time runs out.
The bottom center of the screen displays a progress bar indicating how close you are to the village. The Star icon represents your location, and the village is represented by the Red house icon.
Along the way, you have the option to repair the village’s broken emergency warning system using batteries found lying around. The width of the red zone starting from the house icon will depend on the number of emergency systems you restore on the way down the mountain. The more emergency systems you restore, the smaller the red zone.
As you ski down, the panel will gradually fill up with white blocks representing the avalanche. Each time you hit an object while skiing, an extra block is added. If the white blocks catch up to your position, the deadly avalanche will come into view!
Hint: Look out for wind gusts. Jumping into a wind gust will propel you forwards, away from the avalanche
The character’s health is shown in the bottom left-hand side of the screen. If your health reaches zero, you will awake in your cabin in the ski resort, with 5 minutes removed from the game timer.
The game timer starts with 60 minutes on the clock. If the game timer reaches zero, it’s game over!

ANOTHER SKIER MISSING ON YETI MOUNTAIN!
It’s been happening a lot lately, but this last disappearance is different, at least to me. Chris Piriah is my friend. He was a ski instructor and in excellent physical condition. He knows his way around mountain ranges. This doesn’t sound right. I need to head on over to Yeti Lodge Resort and find out what has happened to him.
