How do I use a compatible joystick that has minimal buttons?

The games supplied with THEA500 Mini have the primary actions mapped to buttons button A , button B , button X and button Y , making these the most important buttons for gameplay on THEGAMEPAD.

If you are using a controller or joystick that is compatible with THEA500 Mini but has a less than eight buttons, you may find it does not have a HOME button with which to launch programs from Media select or access other features. The solution is to use the Physical controller swap feature.

With this feature, you launch the game with THEGAMEPAD as usual, and then switch to the button-limited joystick by pressing and holding HOME and then press button X .

This will swap the controller in hand (THEGAMEPAD used to launch the game) with the next controller THEA500 Mini has detected. Invoking the controller swap function a second time will swap the joystick back.

Note: If you have more than two controllers or joysticks plugged in, it is not defined which controller or joystick will get swapped in place of the one that launched the game.
