Why do I see THEA500 logo when loading WHDLoad programs?

When launching some WHDLoad programs THEA500 Mini will display THEA500 logo for a few seconds and then go through a loading sequence, displaying its progress as lines of text on the screen.

This happens when the program is not recognised by THEA500 Mini and its WHDLoad Package, and can occur if the program filename has been changed or is an unknown program.

Generally these programs will load successfully, however they will load slower and not benefit from the pre-configuration they would receive if they were recognised, which may cause them to run faster than they should.

To address these issues:

  1. Do not rename LHA files, as the filename is significant. For example, Citadel_v1.3.lha should not be renamed citadel.lha.
  2. Regularly upgrade to the latest version of the WHDLoad Package, since new programs are added regularly along with fixes. See Checking for updates to the WHDLoad Package in the User Manual.
